Animal Description

Appearance

Remarkably well aged.
Often sports a natural look with her hair down, and wears little to no makeup.
No tattoos or piercings except for her earlobes.
Almost constantly well dressed. Her wardrobe has various styles from eras gone by, mostly in soft, neutral shades.

Personality

Logical.
In spite of her hobby-like interest in others and strains of compassion, Greta is long past the days of following her heart. It doesn't beat anyway, so what good would that do? She rarely makes a move before considering the consequences.
Cunning.
Greta appears to be an unassuming, middle-aged woman, and she uses that to her advantage. She tends to keep a few tricks up her sleeve and never shows her full hand.
Philosophical.
Knowledge is power, and Greta has always preferred to keep herself armed with information throughout the last few hundred years. She relishes in today's age of information, and can often be found studying or doing research just for fun, especially of the historical or scientific kind. She is also quite technologically savvy.
Scientifically and politically inclined.
New findings in science and political game play around the world are two of Greta's greatest interests. She finds great joy in discussing and being involved in both of these things.
Occasional vigilante.
With little trust in today's legal and justice systems, Greta is not below taking matters into her own hands if the reward is worth the risk. Helping a victim in need is, however, not always a selfless act. Often times she executes vengeful acts for personal pleasure.
Explorative.
With a love of knowledge also comes a desire for real world experience, limited by the sun though it may be. Greta sometimes easily tires of being in the same place for too long and enjoys seeing new sites and meeting new people, even if it means dipping her toes in troubled waters.

History

Born in Börlange, Sweden in 1611, the eldest of three children born to poor parents.

Was married into a wealthier family at the age of 16, living true to Protestant values and bearing three children for her husband shortly after her betrothal.

Lost her only daughter at the age of seven as a casualty of the Thirty Year War.

Lived out much of her prime as little more than a mother, wife, and beautiful, quiet woman in a comfortable upper class lifestyle.

In 1664, Greta's husband succumbed to Scarlet fever. Lived with her youngest son for a few years before taking much of the money left by her late husband and spontaneously traveling Europe.

Met Osvald Westerberg in 1669 in Portugal and found him to be a curiously intriguing companion: charming, well travelled, and a native Swede. She discovered him drinking the blood of an affluent socialite one evening, and despite her initial repulsion, found herself asking to be transformed, enchanted by the idea of eternal life.

Greta spent several decades with Osvald, learning to control her dire thirst and embrace her new life through good and bad times alike. Found her newly-formed telekinetic ability to be both amazing and tiresome.

Parted ways with her Sire in the early 18th century, drawn to France by the Age of Enlightenment. After joining the Paris clutch, she spent many evenings posing as a man to be more easily involved with the likes of Voltaire, Spinoza, and Montesquieu.

Was involved in the French Revolution in her own way, luring many government officials and aristocrats to their deaths, while avoiding major battles (too much fire).

Left France around 1820 and boarded a ship to America, having heard many interesting things about the New World. She settled in Salem, New Jersey for a short while, before exploring the Missouri territory, and then further West in the 1830s.

Moved to New York in 1860, and joined the Albany clutch. Repulsed by slavery, she dedicated many evenings to aiding in the Underground Railroad. Was occasionally rewarded with the opportunity to kill disgruntled overseers hunting down escaped slaves. Also discovered her animal form during this time period.

Moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and aided the Union in the American Civil War by feeding her blood to wounded soldiers to heal them. May or may not have accidentally turned a couple of them.

Uninterested in either World War I or II (mostly feeling useless against quickly evolving techniques and weapons), Greta bounced around Asia for much of the 1900s. Spent several years with Tokyo clutch.

Returned to America in the late 1990s, joining the NYC clutch and dabbling in controversial science work (mostly genetics and bioengineering).

Recently arrived in Mountainside, her first time back in the Western US in nearly 200 years, and is scoping things out.

Other

Face Claim: Yasmina Rossi

Has an affinity for animals and children.
Speaks Swedish, French, Japanese, and Mandarin, but not always fluently, as the years occasionally show themselves by the wear on her memory. Has no accent when speaking English.
