Beep Beep Motherfuckers

Pine Peak Sanctuary

Friday the 13th shift!

This was a new thing: paying admission for a shift, and showing up at some fucking lodgepole YMCA to throw her keys in a locker instead of doing it all by the fucking roadside, leaving a pile of clothes by the passenger side door like she had fucking melted out of them.

No, that was not what she was doing tonight. Tonight she had...fucking keycode access.

It was weird, is what she was saying. She'd gotten there early, not wanting to fuck up an impression on this new girl, and now she had nothing to do except practice handstands in the suddenly-chilly weather, wondering why she felt so human and waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

Having had less than stellar times with the full moon, mostly in the form of a jealous fox, Orri decided that maybe shifting somewhere safer would be better for the current month. And so he decided to try out the little sanctuary that Cliff had mentioned all those months ago. He felt kind of bad for not talking to the friendly bear as much. But maybe he would run into him out in the woods.

The place was very nice. He hadn't really expected to be able to store his belongings in a locker. Usually he left them in a bag hidden under a bush or another. Which sometimes meant he had a hard time finding it after turning back.

After dropping off his bag he headed out to the little area in the front of the big forest and caught sight of a woman already there doing handstands.

"Hello!"

He called out brightly.

Summer did find this all quite odd as well.

Never having had a group, let alone a hub, let alone a... place specifically for shifting.

She wasn't saying she wasn't into it! She was just saying she didn't know how she felt about literally any aspect of tonight at all! Perhaps it wasn't helped by the fact that she was feeling an unexpected sedateness. Normally when she was gearing up to see Pete she felt that manic giggle she absolutely attributed to the brown hyena. Right now she felt... Good. Not great, but very calm and maybe a little more full than she normally felt after a Full Moon Pre-Meal.

Wasn't quite able to place why it was this way, but maybe it was just the knowledge that she was shifting in a place where everyone knew that was what she was here to do, tonight. Not that that was normally anything that made her anxious or anything, so...

Stashing her stuff, she wandered in the direction sh could sense her kin in, calling out before she'd even seen her, "PEEEEEEETA." Accidental Hunger Games.

He was not far behind Summer. The entire ordeal was satisfyingly orderly, and he was thankful receiving a gate code was no hassle. The area was rugged, but not barren, and expansive enough not to feel cramped. There was a mounting anticipation for the evening, though there was no manic excitement driven by the hyena. In fact, the day had gone as though he'd shifted the night before, relaxed and feeling as normal as one could. Perhaps even more normal than he was accustomed to.

Curious, but nothing he bothered to fret over. He spied Summer as she exited the building, parked his car and opened the door as she yelled out. "You'll scare prey away like that." He chided, voice loud and rough as nails, though he smiled cruelly around it. It would be interesting, to see how she operated around him now that it was clear Pete had forgiven him for what he'd had to do.

It hadn't been too hard to locate their meeting place, Blaise pulling up just as she spotted Echo making his way towards a small group of three people. She had thought that Echo had only mentioned there being two others, but shrugged it off that they might of just found another hyena in the mean time to join up with them as well.

Speaking of hyenas, hers would typically be screaming with excitement at this little gathering, but instead, the creature was absolutely silent within her. It had Blaise feeling both empty and human, which was definitely not something she liked or was used to. Brows furrowing, Blaise would exit her vehicle, leaving her things in her car as she made her way towards the forming group.

"Hey." She'd call as she drew closer, a single hand raised in greeting as a wide smile took up her face.

Her legs windmilled slowly as she caught the approach of...somebody. She wasn't really good enough at this to turn without falling, so instead she went into a roll, and what was an upside-down woman facing away from the kid became a sitting one squinting up at him. "Hey." Who was this? She had no idea what kind of animal he carried, and sluggish Becky was, freakishly, not here to help. "Happy full moon day."

A fuckin' full moon social club...would wonders never cease.

In the distance, though, she heard Summer shriek at her, and she went from slumping to ramrod straight, whipping her head around to target the very tall very pretty hyena. "HOT LEGS."

There, they were all coming: Summer, old No-Neck, and another very tall beautiful person??? Why was Pete's life perfect?

He grinned as the cartwheeling woman rolled into a sitting position in front of him.

"Happy Moon day to you as well!"

Wow this was much better then he had expected. He had never felt this free to talk out loud, not since being with his father's group in Paris. It was nice, and exciting. Although there was three more people decending upon them from the entrance. People that smelled like the woman not like foxes. A bit dissapointing but maybe their animals would want to play?

"Hello!"

He would call again waving at the new comers.

HELLO PETE SHE LOVED YOU.

It was really a happy feeling, coming up on her First and Best hyena friend, even if they seemed to have other company! Who was... something small! That's all she knew, but even that seemed like questionable information, what with... super chill brain. Like, she didn't care what were anyone was. Not even Pete, who she was still drawn to--which was nice.

Who she was NOT drawn to was Echo. His chiding made her bristle an a ferocious sort of way. "Fuck ooooOooOooff~" she sing-songed to him, tempted to flip him off but then she saw! Oh! That must be the new lady!

So she waved intead, "Hey there!" All the while, making a half-watchful walk to join Pete and the stranger!

Oh, surely that would discourage him!

Echo would shoulder his bag, content with keeping it oh his person, and approach the congregating group. There was Pete, then Blaise looking somewhat nervous, but not pitifully so. And then... a child. Or, it did appear to be that way for a moment. Echo slowed as he regarded the stranger, noted after a moment of straining against the beast's reluctance to help him, that this was no hyena.

"Who are you?" He demanded, tone dry and demanding.

As she drew closer, it became clear that one of the three new Weres before her were not of the same species as Echo and her. If it had not been her nose that caught the different scent. than Echos very rude greeting to the platinum blonde would. Eyes narrowing a bit to the back of the mans head, Blaise would quicken her step so that she walked at Echos side. "That's no way to make new friends." She chided lightly to Echo, shaking her head as she offered an apologetic smile towards the smaller boy.

Her gaze would quickly travel to the two women she had been told about, already enjoying their rather loud presence. "I'm Blaise, I hope Echos only said good things about me." She doubted he'd have anything negative to really mention, but the way he was coming off now, she doubted that it would be hard for him to find some sort of fault in anyone.

Half-sprawled on the ground, Pete took in everything: the peppy enthusiasm from the new kid, Summer's excitement and her resentment, Echo's inability to read a room, and Blaise's possible nervousness and her poise. She didn't feel either way about any of it, really; it was all just interesting. "Echo's never had friends before, so he gets it wrong."

She smiled at him, always here to deliver his serving of humble pie. Anyway, if no one else was going to handle the the odd kid out here, she guessed she would. Not bothering to get up, she twisted back around to consider this little treat. "What kind of animal is that, dude? You think it can handle hyenas?"

Well Orri supposed there was all kinds of people out in the world so he didn't feel to bad about the man's less then welcoming attitude. This was no coyote queen threatening to kick him out. And the three woman seemed nice enough! He grinned at the one who had apoligized for the man. But then the woman who had been doing cartwheels asked a question so he turned back to her.

"I'm a fox!"

He said proudly and somewhat happily. So this group were Hyenas. Sadly probably not going to be playmates for the night then.

"Hmmm. Well I don't think Hyenas eat foxes normally but my faðir said most big cats and canines like to eat us. Soo I'll probably skip out after changing if that's alright with you guys. I'm pretty fast on my feet as a animal."

Man, this young dude didn't even begin to know what he was in the middle of right now. Neither did probably Blaise, oh well. She'd learn--and her learning would pay off if they could make this work. Privately, quietly, Summer was paying the new woman more mind than she was the alleged fox. Was it silly to keep counting the hyenas she met? But this was number four, if you counted poor fucking Abhi.

Speaking of...

"Yeah, no offense but you might want to make yourself scarce before we get all whacky, kiddo. Echo here likes eatin' people, thinks it's a good laugh."

She was all smiles but she was never going to like him. :3

Goodness.

What came next left him visibly sneering, a less than charming sight. He'd only asked whom the boy was, and even the newest edition thought she ought to put him into place. The young boy, a fox, was peppy in a way that was irritating. Echo was predisposed, no matter the effort the three women put into defending him, to dislike this child. He ought to find Romeo, they could cower together. Disgusting vermin. That he might eat him, whilst exposing in a way that inspired violence directed toward Summer, was not entirely untrue.

It would be kinder to run him off now, but the three women seemed to be under the impression that he ought to stick around until they shifted. "Best to use those quick feet of yours once we've shifted." He'd say, seeking out a teasing smile to fit into his lips. All good fun, see? The smile certainly did not reach his eyes.
