Mountainside Planetarium

Around 5 PM/Sunset, AW!

Hey, so, it was like forever since she and Minnie had agreed to go scope this place out again. But there was school stuff then holiday stuff and then just general life stuff. She almost forgot about it, until she was going through her old sketches, and found that face again. It set her on edge still, unsettling that she absolutely had no fucking idea who it was. At the time, she had considered posting it on Instagram and asking if anyone knew him, but that just sort of felt like she was asking for trouble. Also, how weird. 'I drew this guy, but don't remember it, you know him?' Nope!

Minnie knew the weird predicament, though! And so she reminded her friend about it one evening, and they planned on an afternoon that Minnie was off, and set out to the Planetarium. It was exciting, kind of like cryptid hunting, but with even more mystery. Weird things happened here, and they were chasing them down. Maybe something would happen, or maybe they were going to just look at some space stuff and leave. Either way, she was excited.

In they went, arms linked as per Chantelle's wordless request. The sun was slipping down in the sky by now, the clouds a mosaic of pinks and oranges and purples. Darker than intended, but maybe it would be okay! Chantelle had her sketch pad in a bag slung over her shoulder, tucked away was the sketch of the man in case he was lurking around and available to be compared. Otherwise, they were sort of going in blind here, and seeing what came of it, "I'm voting its a bunch of succubus living in the walls." Chantelle suggested as they strode through the front lobby.

This was pretty exciting! It was also pretty scary, but Minerva did her best to smother that feeling, largely to appear cool and collected! She really had forgotten something here, and so had Chantelle, and what if that happened again? It sounded like a bad time, man! Especially rolling in here as the sun set, that was intimidating, but it would be fine. Totally cool. She had someone here with her, arms linked, using the buddy system. It would be fun.

Chantelle's quip made her laugh at least. Her eyes wandered the walls as they walked, noticing the things she could remember, wondering about the things she didn't. Was that just her own forgetfulness? Was that something that had disappeared in their mystery brain warp? Her eyes wandered passing faces. Did any of these people have missing memories? Did they have any idea what happened in here?

"Maybe aliens," she countered lamely, grinning all the same. "I'd be pretty mad if I got to go to outer space for real and didn't remember it." She wouldn't actually be mad, though. If it was aliens, maybe they had their reasons!

"Dude!" Chantelle exclaimed with a gasp, nudging her friend in the ribs, "I didn't even think of that! It could totally be aliens." Maybe a bit too loud! But it made sense! Planetarium! Aliens! Duh! "What if we got probed." Wicked.

Dude! Minnie giggled, especially for the nudge to her ribs, crunching against it reflexively. It totally could be aliens, what if they - "Ewww, Chantelle, noooo, shhhh," she managed through cringing giggles, her voice starting at nearly a squeal and ending very softly. "Okay okay, let's check out some of these exhibits. See which ones we remember, okay." Hehe, phew, get it together girls!!

Haha, probed. Pretty disturbing if you thought about to too much! Good thing Minnie was distracting her with a pretty good idea. See what exhibits they did and did not remember. Good plan! "Okay," She agreed, letting Minnie take point on that, "When did you come here last?" She questioned, realizing she hadn't asked.

Okay! So be it! Minerva would indeed take the lead, for all she was not a great leader. She would wing it! "Uhhh, jeez, let's see," she thought out loud, guiding Chantelle around a turn. So far, so familiar, for as long as it had been. "Right before October, year before last. Twenty-eighteen." A lot had happened since then! Her eyes wandered the colorful infographics around them as she spoke. Nothing seemed to be setting off any alarms yet!

Oh, dang, so a while! But she still seemed confident that she would be able to remember what she had and hadn't seen before. Maybe Minnie just had a better memory than Chantelle did. She wasn't even that confident about an experience she had two months ago. "Jeez, you remember that?" She teased, "I wonder if we should ask people around if they've ever had a weird experience here. Or employees!" Bad idea? Good idea? Maybe they were all brainwashed minions.
