November 4th - Full Moon

The great thing about having a small group was that Avery didn't have to wait long for them to all show up so that they could walk to the edge of their land where they were to shift. Once they were all there, she'd picked a spot on the map of her territory and the four Hyena's began there walk where Avery would explain to all of them what exactly had happened with Alina to keep everyone informed. While part of her wanted to protect the Cackle from information that could hurt them, at the same time there was something to be said about keeping them all prepared.

"I mean you saw Alina at the masquerade - she's healed up now, but it took four or five full shifts to get rid of all the scarring." She mused with a sigh. She'd wanted to go find the vampire that had hurt her practically sister. Protective of Alina didn't even begin to cover it, but she supposed that definition would do until she could find a new one. She shook her head.

"No matter what though, until we find out more about Vampires, if you smell one, everyone needs to walk in a different direction." On this, she would not budge. "Is everyone clear?"

Since his arrival, he'd been sticking pretty close to Avery - or at least within reach, one would say. It was nice seeing his sister again and although he hadn't met the others prior to this, nor had ever been in a group before, he was there. Leaned back against the wall with his arms crossed, listening to his sister as she spoke. The name Alina rang a couple of bells and he gave her a puzzled look. Was it the same one or another one? He'd have to ask.

"Aye, aye, Captain." He responded, his gaze soon roaming the room before falling upon her again. "Do we know who it is? Who did that to.. Alina?" There was another question hidden in there, and he dropped his hands only to have them slide into his pockets. "Will you guys try and track this bloodsucker?" He continued, not really saying it out loud but if there were vampires hurting Weres and they were going for them, he would like a piece of that as well.

It was an odd thing, to see how things had transitioned over the course of the months since his arrival in Mountainside. Avery was an institution, a friend of sorts and a leader in which he placed his trust - Joey was a staple at her side. But otherwise faces came and went, but he stayed through all of it in a rare show of commitment. He supposed a large part of it was the feeling of belonging, some of it the roots that he had planted beside Juniper - whatever the cause, he was there for the full moon as always.

Hands stuffed into his pockets, he listened intently as Avery was as forthcoming as he had come to expect of her leadership - keeping them in the know, making it apparent that being privy to such knowledge didn't mean that they were given free reign with it. And while, yes, he was prone to moments of humorous deflection and poorly timed sarcasm - this was one bear even he knew better than to poke.

Watching her brother from the corner of his eye, he ran his tongue over his teeth and refocused on their Queen. "Smell rot, walk in the opposite direction - you have my word." He wasn't in the business of adding to her stress, especially not with something this heavy on their plates.

Avery
-kisses Joey's cheek gently once they get to the clearing, already went through this with him- Good! Everyone ready to shift? - waits for everyone to get going and then starts to shift herself-

Enid
-decided to take an evening jaunt through the woods, needing to clear her head a little after drinking some- Where the hell am I? -beginning to realize it was probably a bad idea to go to a random party, drink more than she normally does, and venture off on her own, she continues to wander in the hopes she see's something familiar- Fuck. -What she finds instead of something familiar is some really interesting sounds that she wonders if she should head away from, but instead walks towards-

Avery
-greets each of the Hyena's in turn once they're all shifted, does a circle around them and starts to lead them in their hunt, smells human very abruptly- Stop. -ears swivel to track the sound-

Enid
-Noting that the sounds have stopped, she wonders if she was hearing things. Still curious, she continues forward.- Good job Enid, getting lost in the woods. -Her words are cut short when she hears a guttural noise, almost like a word, and looks to see where it came from.- Hello?

Avery
-starts to lead the group in a snarl in the hopes of scaring the stranger off-

Enid
-Hears the snarl, can't really tell what direction it's coming from. It seems to echo of the trees in every direction.- Shit. -Very aware she shouldn't be here, she starts to try and run, stumbling her way in the dark with altered balance.- (edited)

Avery
-snarls louder as the person comes closer to them instead of away, tilts her head to the side when she comes into the clearing and barks, doesn't give her a chance to turn and run, rushes her with the group-

Enid
-Stumbles into a clearing just as the snarling grows louder and is accompanied by a bark. She doesn't have time to asses what is really going on, just that a group of animals is headed her way. Screaming, she has no time to react or attempt to run before they are on her-

Avery
-snaps at and chomps down on the girl's wrist, drags her down to the ground-

Enid
-Screams in surprise and pain, feeling the pull to the ground and following it a little too easily. Now on the ground, she attempts to kick out, hoping to make contact, all the while attempting to pull her arm free.- Let go! Let go! Let go!

Avery
-yelps when the foot connects with her face, does in fact let go, tears skin back with her, looks up at the sky and gauges where the moon is- Surround her. She'll shift before the night is out. -knows they can't let her get away-

Enid
-cries out with the shooting pain through her arm but still knows she's been let go. Her mind set on getting away, she begins to make her way to her feet when the one that bit her begins to speak.- What the hell?! -Shocked, she wonders what she's gotten herself into and still attempts to run.-

Avery
-closes in on her- Stop! I'm not chasing you through Crestview! You're going to feel it any second now. -knows that if she doesn't, they'll have to kill her-

Enid
-Certain she's hallucinating the speaking, she doesn't listen. Continuing to run, she screams out rather abruptly at the snapping of her leg, dropping her to the ground. Before she knows whats happening, a burning courses through her as he body begins to contort into a new shape-

Avery
-steps back when she starts to shift, halts and just waits, feels a little bad, makes plans to talk to her in the morning about everything and take her out for breakfast-

Enid
-Is aware of nothing but the shift for several moments. Certain that this is the end, that the pain will be never ending, she is left panting once it finally stops. She raises on shaky... Feet? Looking wildly around at the others.-

Avery
-waits for the others to greet the new addition first, moves forward after them and noses against her in greeting- Hunt with us. We'll take care of you.

Enid
-Is greeted by many, their scents think in her nose and... oddly comforting as she adjusts. Last to greet her is followed by a familiar voice.- O-Okay.

Avery
-nods, licks her jaw, gets her bearings again and moves to lead the Cackle after the deer they were tracking before-

Enid
-Waits for the lead to be taken, falling in line behind a few others, adjusting as she follows for a night of hunting. There is nothing but the focus on following and the quick paced flow of time as she watches and learns.-
