IC: BREAKING NEWS (01/05/2018)

The third time the breaking news music interrupted the morning news, dread was quick to spread amongst viewers and the news anchor was no better. Her expression was grim as she looked up from the papers in her hand, though she looked considerably more put together than the last time.

"Good evening, I'm Patricia Barron. We interrupt your scheduled programming with breaking news coming out of Cordova, Colorado. An anonymous source sent us a video late last night and after confirming its validity, we regret to inform you that another Cordova resident has fallen victim to a Vampire attack. Please be advised, what you are about to see may be disturbing for some viewers."

The image cut to a slightly shaky video, eerily silent save for quiet breathing or the sound of someone adjusting in their seat every so often while a vampire attacked another person in the distance.

The video ended and the scene returned to Patricia. "Cordova's city council had an emergency meeting early this morning in response to this video. Officials have declared a mandatory curfew for all of Mountainside which will be in effect from 9pm to 5am.

Officers who encounter an individual in apparent violation of the curfew should stop and investigate to determine the circumstances warranting their presence in the public domain. Officers are expected to exercise their discretion relative to these encounters and to take whatever action is most appropriate. Persons involved in emergency services and other first response efforts, as well as persons going to and from work (late shift workers), are exempt from the curfew.

This order will remain in effect until further notice. Citizens will be advised when the curfew is lifted."

Looking down at her hands, she cleared her throat being refocusing on the front and center camera at last. "As always, we will be here all night to keep you up to date with all the latest information as we receive it... Stay safe, Mountainside."

Fortunately, there was no breaking news music to interrupt the news this morning. Still, the news anchor looked very serious as she went off the paper in her hand.

"Good morning. Officials have announced that as of today, the curfew will no longer be in effect. Authorities ask that citizens remain vigilant and attentive to their surroundings, and have opened up addition tip lines in the event that you see something suspicious. They also encourage citizens to call 9-1-1 in the event of a Vampire or Shifter attack. Do not try and capture the video. Please, just call 9-1-1 and get to a safe location.

Additional officers will be out on the streets at night and Cordova is putting together a new, revolutionary task force to deal with the supernatural situations that develop.

Be safe out there, Cordova.
