Crystal Springs
#1

Today was hot spring day, and her croc was all but buzzing in the anticipation she sensed. "Gonna meet a new friend today ya little lady," Naz explained as she popped down the sun visor, meeting her own gaze. Oh, can't have that - she thought as she cleaned some mascara from above her eye with a finger.

Nudging the visor back up, she would eventually make it through the front doors of Crystal Springs. Daniel had mentioned him or Meike handling reception, so like a moth to a flame she directly glided towards the front desk.

Meike was here, wearing the designated Crystal Springs uniform and looking bored out of her mind with the lack of traffic today. She hadn't really noticed the lizard's grumbling and huffing as she doodled on a notepad, but when the door opened and someone walked it, it became incredibly apparent. A woman with dark her and a pretty face floated in, making for the desk Meike was sat behind. In a rush of recognition that was unexplained, given she had never met this woman, Meike stood. Another croc. Daniel had mentioned meeting one. Naz, right? Mikey blinked up at the woman as her scaley burned bubbled out of the proverbial fish tank Meike imagined for her, and urged to move closer.

"Oh," Meike said instead, leaning against the counter and letting a tiny smile form. "You Naz?" Assumptions, but how many other crocs were walking through that door? There was no way this was someone new.

It was comical, to be honest. How the girl suddenly rose, the leaning in - how they were staring eye to eye with a familiarity no one around them would understand. She was pretty beautiful, if not young. Naz liked her hair.

"Sure am pretty," she gave a wickedly mischievous smile, folding both arms onto the front desk. Unknown to her - her eyes shifted into a shade of purple as the saltwater croc closed some distance on the metaphysical plane. She was confident, but also careful to not make the (actual) hatchling shy away.

"How's it going?"

Okay, sure, pretty. She came closer, and there was an even stronger urge to push across the desk and touch her folded arms. Calm down, lizard girl. How was it going? Well. "Pretty good." Meike said with a nod, a hand moving to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. What time was it? She could probably take a lunch. "Daniel tell you about the place?" She questioned.

Being privileged in the height department, Naz discreetly peeked over the front desk to see some doodles. Pretty good seemed a little more like just looking to pass time.

"Sure did," Naz answered tenderly, snapping her gaze back up. "You got any recommendations 'bout what I should do first?" Facials... massages... hot springs... she read a pamphlet to the side.

Mikey noticed the peeking, but didn't mind it. They were just dumb doodles of crocodiles. At the request for a suggestion, it hit her that, duh, Naz wasn't coming her just to socialize. "You should start at the hot pools. Just down," She pointed through a hallway that would lead into another with different split off rooms. "And, um, wait about five minutes, and I'll take my lunch and join you." That gave her an hour to let the crocs socialize, to get a good feel for the woman. Which was important, right? It felt important.

Hot springs! Naz glanced in the direction Meike pointed before turning back with a pearly smile.

"Can do. I didn't bring bathers or anythin' though - how do I go 'bout that?" she asked curiously.

Oh, well. "They're all optional." Meike assured her with a nod. "If that's alright." She was a croc, so nudity felt like something she was probably just as familiar with as Meike was.

Naz's face seemed to light up. Nothing in the world was more convenient. "Too easy," she answered, fetching her purse out of her handbag. "How much does it come to?"

Hey now Meike, don't go all croc discount on her.

A more generous person might have said "free of charge", and maybe Daniel would be upset that she didn't, but Meike wasn't looking to get in trouble or have something taken out of her paycheck. "Forty for a basic access pass," She said with a nod, and moved toward the computer to start up a transaction. "If you want a facial or anything, there's a price menu." She grabbed one from the desk and slid it over the counter toward Naz.

On second thought about the facials. "Mhmm, nah. Basic pass is fine. Can't let it ruin my makeup." It was a joke, largely, and she winked at Meike to say as much.

"Here ya go," Naz said as she handed over her credit card, watching the girl work with an affection which came through from her own croc. Like species - the powers of that were funky. At least after a few moments of staring, her eyes had decided to shift back to their usual colour.

She was privately glad she didn't try and guilt her about paying full price. Mikey cocked a smile at the makeup comment, not really getting it since she didn't wear makeup. But she knew there was effort in it, so. Hopefully the steam from the pools wouldn't be too harsh. She took the card, and felt the staring as she rang her up. A small glance up, unaware that her eyes were a betraying aqua color and had been for some moments as the croc rumbled and bobbed about in a vie for her attention. Hold on, dude.

When things went through, she slid the card back to Naz and smiled some. "Okay, so I'll be there in a few." She'd just grab someone from the laundry room to cover her lunch.

She earned a positive reaction for her playfulness. And then when Meike looked up, Naz flashed a charismatic grin, hardly thinking her blue eyes were worth fretting over. "Cheers," she said under her breath as the card was handed back, slipping it neatly into her wallet. "See ya in a few then."

Naz headed off for the change rooms which were closest to the indoor hot pool. She found a fancy white towel to wrap around herself, before it inevitably had to come off after a few minutes.

Steamy was the only thought at the forefront of her mind as she entered the room. Both the croc and her welcomed the warmth of the water once she'd lowered herself into it. Being cold blooded had the unfortunate effect of having to learn to live with entirely tense muscles and a stiff back, but here the water seemed to melt that reality away.

Naz would be playing with the water whenever Meike finally joined her, dragging her hand through the surface - an activity bred from satisfaction. "Meike!" she stopped to call brightly, croc rumbling in careful glee to the little one in the meantime.

It wasn't hard to convince someone to give up their folding duties, and before long Meike had gone to doth her clothing and follow the sensation of crocodile to the pool Naz had gone into. When she stepped in, Naz was there to greet her, and Mikey blinked at the use of her full name. Of course, that's what Daniel would have told the woman. "Just Mikey is fine." She said, and wouldn't really wast time in trying to be too conservative as she set aside her towel and stepped into the steaming pool. The croc grumbled happily, and she paced herself in sinking to her shoulders and stepping a bit closer to Naz. A hand extended across the surface as she settled beside her, and she finally let their arms brush. The croc was immediate in gliding forward to bump into the foreign creature, rumbling happily as Meike was overcome by that strange sensation of seeing-but-not.

Mikey it was. ”Mikey,” she corrected obligingly with a smile. Naz wouldn’t look away when the little croc stripped down, but she did keep her eyes fixed on her face! Yoo-hoo - not a pedo!

Naz let Mikey decide on the distance between them, and she was delighted to find it be so close, arms brushing. The saltie bumped back on the metaphysical plane, scales against scales.

”Would we get in trouble with Daniel if we shifted?” Naz whispered, actively having to wrestle down her croc who of course, wanted to meet this friend in person.

It was strange, but she liked it. Meike was smiling until Naz suggested shifting, then it fell some. She wanted to, but the timing was just bad. "It takes too long to recover for me." She said with eyed downcast at their arms. "You should shift with us on the full moon, though." Not that she'd remember any of it, but she liked the idea of it being the three of them.

Naw, so? What did that matter?

"Now that sounds fine," she replied cheerily, trying to brighten that sad face. "Is this where it all goes down?" Naz looked around, as if taking in the size of the room. She foresaw bellyflops, and her eyes couldn't help but shift back to a greedy purple, adamant about staying that way.

Naz was... charming. Sweet and likeable. Meike didn't like many people, and she was pretty sure a lot of it had to do with her lizard's happy rumbling, but Naz was cool. Mikey nodded as she looked about, wishing she could remember more to tell her, but. "Yeah, here or the other hot pool. Eventually when it's warmer we can go to the out door ones." For now, they were forced indoors where it was warm.

She adored her yoga studio - no doubt about that. But it could be dry, kiddy pools exploded, and... hey.

"Bears don't mind the shindig?" Naz prompted almost immediately, voice lilting with interest towards the end.

The bears... she really hadn't actually though much about them. She knew they were here, because North Glenn felt different. But really, she hadn't ever even met one. "Guesso. They haven't come busting down our doors yet." She said with a shrug, moving to sort of glide through the water so she was facing Naz, but there was a comfortable space between them. "We don't bother them, so I doubt they'll bother us." A shrug lifted her shoulders from beneath the surface of the water, emitting a sloshing sound.
